A pause that keeps your place

A productivity tool can make stopping feel like abandoning the agreement entirely. Stillroom gives a pause a smaller meaning. The remaining interval stays where it is, and returning means continuing that piece of time. The interface does not need to turn the interruption into a judgment about the person using it.

The room metaphor is useful because a room can wait. It holds a paragraph, a few pages or an unfinished thought without demanding that the visitor complete an entire life plan. A named task and a finite interval create a boundary around the work. The pause button leaves that boundary intact while allowing the person to step away.

Separating breaks from focus records matters for the same reason. Rest does not inflate the focus total, but it is also not presented as an error. An ended-early interval has its own outcome in the journal. The record remains descriptive enough to be honest and limited enough not to claim knowledge of attention or effort.

The local timer supports a named task, a chosen duration, pause and resume, and separate focus and break intervals. Completed focus sessions unlock up to three scenes. Both completed and ended-early attempts enter the journal, which can be exported as CSV. The record describes elapsed timer time rather than independently verified attention.

Pause an interval, take a moment away, and resume with the same time remaining. Notice the consequence before adding another step. This presentation does not connect a hosted service or issue a token; its claim is the small interaction you can actually inspect.
